One Love Roller Dolls is an all-female roller derby league, representing the Antwerp region in the exciting and fast growing roller derby revolution currently sweeping the low lands. We were founded in February 2010, and continue to grow everyday with new recruits. Our league consists of +/- 40 skating members, 4 refs, 1 coach, and a couple of non-skating supporting members. Every 6 months a bunch of awesome fresh meat joins in. We practice 3 times a week, did a few bouts, and we’re preparing some fun bootcamps to share our knowledge with our sister leagues. Under the observant eye of our coach, Sir SkateAlot, we’re training hard to become more skillful. The pink army is ready to place itself on the roller derby map!

Lolli Chop wanted to start a league close to her hometown, Antwerp. She met her derby‐wife‐to‐be, An C Hammer, and together with Cherry Moshpit and Queen Sil, they founded the One Love Roller Dolls. These ladies got noticed & got support from a local snowboard- and skateboard shop, the One Love Boardshop, which led to the new league’s name. Next on was finding a location to practice, so they contacted a local roller skating club, Kon. Klopstokia RHC. This club, who is active in artistic roller skating and in inline hockey, has a roller skating track they wanted to share with the new derby team. The OLRD joined this club, and held their first practice. During the first year, the One Love Roller Dolls worked on recruiting, learning the basic skills and creating a league that is well organized, with a culture of having fun in roller skating, and friendship. The 30th of October 2011, they took on the Ruhrpott Roller Girls from Essen, Germany, in their first official bout they named ‘Bad Moon Rising‘.

On the 16th of July 2012, The OLRD has been accepted as an Apprentice affiliate of the WFTDA, the governing body for women’s amateur flat track roller derby. As an Apprentice affiliate of the WFTDA, One Love Roller Dolls joined the ranks of more than 100 all-female, skater-owned-and -operated leagues nationwide that have united to lead the growing sport of women’s flat track roller derby.
